Identifying Pipeline Segments in Complex Structures with Leakages
Abstract. The paper presents a numerical approach to identifying segments of a hydraulic network that may be prone to potential leakage, given additional observations of unsteady fluid flow at various points in the pipeline. The problem is formulated as a parametric optimal control problem without initial conditions and with non-separated boundary conditions. First-order optimization methods are employed to solve it, and numerical experiments are conducted to validate the approach.
