Queue-inventory System with Phase-type Service and Hybrid Replenishment Policy
Abstract. We study a queue-inventory system with hybrid replenishment policy depend on threshold value. Customers come according to a Poisson process and servicing times follow a phase-type distribution. A hybrid replenishment policy depend on the threshold value r is considered. That is, when the inventory level drops to s, if the number of customers in the system is less than r, the (s, Q) policy is applied; if the number is more or equal r, the (s, S) policy is applied. The system is formulated by a continuous-time Markov chain. Stability condition is established and steady-state distribution is obtained using the matrix-geometric method. Numerical studies are performed.
